HOW TO READ OUR SINGLE PAINT POT LABELS

Firstly, the name slot. It has (you guessed it) the name of the watercolour paint you purchased. Below the name slot is 4 different properties of the paint. The first slot has a ✔️ which signifies a lightfast pigment. If the lightfastness rating is less than 5 (being the most lightfast on the ASTM scale) then it will have the number it does rank instead. For example the natural indigo pigment I use has a rating of 3 which will be written III. The second slot is the opacity. It will be one of 4 options O for opaque, SO for semi-opaque, T for transparent or ST for semi-transparent.

The third slot indicates if the paint is a single pigment shown as S or an exclusive Ruco blend of pigments signified by B. The final slot tells you if the paint is granulating, flat or a shimmer (or a combo of them). G for granulating, F for flat, S for shimmer and then G/S for a granulating paint with a shimmery component for example.
